If you're interested in learning how to hand building, then our in-depth six-week Beginner Hand Building Course is the perfect place to start.
Over the course of the six-week, you'll learn not only the fundamentals of hand-building, including pinching, coiling, soft and hard slab construction. You'll also be introduced to the world of sculpture, which is designed to push you outside of your comfort zone and explore your creativity, as well as encourage you to combine various fundamental techniques to create interested and engaging pieces.
The cost of the course includes the use of equipment during session times, clay, glazes, and firing.
Not only will you walk away with a wealth of new knowledge, but you will have the opportunity to create a variety of different pieces, including cups, vases, bowls, plates, platters, and so much more.
You will learn:
◦ the ceramic process
◦ the fundamentals of hand-building, including pinching, coiling, soft and hard slab construction, sculpture, and joinery
◦ how to use slump and hump moulds
◦ how to glaze and prepare your pieces for firing
You won't need to bring anything with you, but please wear comfortable clothes & shoes, have short nails, and remove all valuable jewellery.

It's important to choose a time slot that suits your schedule across the six-week period. We do not offer make-up sessions or allow swapping of days.
After you have completed this course, you will then have the opportunity to apply for our membership program, which will allow you to return to the studio on a weekly basis and continue to create. Please note, spaces are limited.
Please note, we require a minimum of three bookings in order to run this course. If we do not meet this minimum, we may cancel the course at any time and offer you a full refund or a credit to attend a course of the same value in the future.
