What will I learn?
During this workshop, you will learn how to throw a vessel on the potter's wheel. This includes how to cone and center your clay, as well as how to open your clay, compress the bottom and pull up your walls.
What will I make?
During this 2-hour pottery class, you will have the opportunity to make two different vessels on the wheel. Most students end up making two small cups, but due to the nature of wheel throwing, you might end up with any number of things, from a wonky little bowl to a wobbly little vase.
What to bring?
Just yourself and your bevies. All of our Clay & Sip pottery classes are BYO. We have glassware available, as well as still and sparkling water on tap. Other than that, we just ask that you arrive a few minutes early, wear clothes you won't mind getting a little muddy, and leave any valuable jewellery (rings, watches) at home. Ladies, we ask that long hair please be tied back if you're on the wheel.
What's Included?
All clay, tools, glazing, and firing are included in the cost of the class. After the workshop, our skilled studio staff will fire and glaze your vessels in our house white glaze.
Pick Up & Delivery
It will take us about 4-6 weeks to fire and glaze your work. You'll receive an email from us as soon as your pieces are ready to collect. If you're from out of town, shipping can be arranged for an added cost.
Booking Requirements
Please note, we do require a minimum of four bookings in order to run this class. If we do not meet this minimum, we may cancel the class at any time and offer you a full refund or a credit to attend a course of the same value in the future.
