Cancellations & Refunds
We have a strict seven day cancellation policy for all classes, courses and workshops.
If less than seven days' notice is given, we will be unable to offer a refund, however, we are able to offer you a credit.
Please note, cancellations within 48 hours of your class will receive no refund or credit. We are a small studio, with very small, intimate classes, and it is unlikely that with less than 48 hours notice we will be able to fill your seat.
You are more than welcome to send a friend in your place. Just shoot us an email and let us know.
If more than seven days’ notice is given, you are entitled to a full refund.
Monthly memberships require an initial three-month commitment, followed by month-to-month. After three months, we require one month’s notice via email to discontinue your membership.
Classes & Workshops
If a class or a workshop is missed, no make-up session can be offered.
When you book in for one of our four-week courses, your seat is reserved for you each week for four weeks. We do not offer make-up sessions if a class if missed. If a class is missed, we highly suggest booking in for one of our tutoring sessions prior to your next class to help get you caught back up.
Please make your best effort to choose a time slot that suits your schedule across the four-week period.
We have a strict ONE MONTH storage policy. This includes thrown work waiting to be trimmed, bisqued work waiting to be glazed, as well as finished work waiting to be collected.
If pieces are not collected within this time frame, they will either be discarded or donated.
It is the student’s responsibility to be aware of the storage policy. If you cannot collect your finished work within this time frame, let us know and we are happy to make alternative arrangements.
If you speak with any seasoned ceramists, they will tell you that the first rule in pottery is not to get too attached. Creating handmade ceramics is a process, and there are numerous things that can go wrong at any given point.
We want nothing more than for you to succeed, and we will do our absolute best to get your pieces through their journey undamaged, however, we are human and accidents do happen.
Stone Studio cannot be held responsible for any undesirable outcomes, including cracking, breakage, mis-fires or something not turning out how you had hoped.
Clay & Firing
All classes, courses and workshops include the cost of clay and glaze, as well as the firing of a certain number of pieces, however, memberships and tutoring sessions do not. For members and students participating in our tutoring sessions, clay and firing are at an additional cost.
We have several different Australian clay bodies that can be purchased by the bag.
The cost of firing depends on the size of your piece. This can be anywhere from $1.00 - $15.00.
